Physical Education (PE)
Statement of Intent
At Much Marcle, our overarching intent for Physical Education (PE) is to foster a lifelong passion for physical activity, ensuring that every child develops fundamental movement skills, physical literacy, and the social skills necessary for success in sport and life.
We believe that an outstanding PE curriculum contributes significantly to the health and well-being of our children, instilling values of teamwork, resilience, and respect.
We aim to:
- Provide a broad and balanced PE curriculum that encompasses a variety of sports and physical activities, ensuring inclusivity and engagement for all children, regardless of their starting points or abilities.
- Encourage healthy lifestyles by promoting the importance of physical fitness, nutrition, and mental well-being.
- Develop competence and confidence in a range of physical skills, enabling children to participate actively and effectively in games, gymnastics, dance, athletics, and outdoor adventure activities.
- Cultivate a positive attitude towards competition, both in winning and losing, fostering sportsmanship and respect among peers.
