On Monday 14th March the children of Much Marcle CE Primary school held a tree planting ceremony. The school signed up to receive the tree from The Queen’s Green Canopy. The organisation is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee.” The school received an Oak sapling, which they planted together on the Bartons playing field. Every child and member staff participated in the planting. A plaque marks the tree’s location and explains its purpose. We hope that the children and community enjoy watching it grow over the coming years.
